ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: The present work aims to reflect the importance of humanized care and the present strategies used to promotion health to pregnant women in the Intensive Care Unit (UTI). MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is an integrative literature review study produced from data extracted from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Nursing Database (BDENF) and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), 10 studies were selected because they met the proposed objective. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Humanization sometimes represents challenging characteristics, especially when it comes to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where it lacks high technical-scientific knowledge, specific and highly complex care. The vulnerability of pregnant women requires even more this provision of care for the promotion of maternal and child health. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: It was evidenced that humanized care significantly contributes to the evolution of each patient and has to be seen with its relative magnitude favoring individual maternal and child physical and mental well-being, contributing to a better quality of care in the intensive care unit.
