ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: To report the experience of searching, translating and publishing popular terms used by patients in the expression of symptoms during consultations in Primary Health Care (PHC) on social media. METHODS: Experience report on the production of the " UBS Dictionary" , linked to the Academic League of Family and Community Health (LASFAC). Researches, translations and publications of popular terms used by PHC users to refer symptoms they are experiencing at the time of consultation were carried out. The publications were made on the official page of the League on Instagram (@lasfac_ufpi). RESULTS: The table has a total of eleven publications, including the translation of terms such as: “embrulhada”, “íngua”, “impingem” and “sapinho”. The experience of its construction contributed significantly to the training of those involved, since by experiencing the reality of the local population and knowing its regional language, the academics developed a particular vision and a practice of holistic health care aimed at that population. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Strategies similar to the experience reported in this study are extremely important to facilitate communication between health professionals and patients in the context of PHC, so that there are no errors in diagnoses and guidelines for therapeutic conduct.
