ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: To present a narrative review of pharmacological activities and profile of bioactive compounds present in Moringa oleifera Lamarck leaves. METHODS: A bibliographic was carried out with the collection and exposition of the theme in a narrative review. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Moringa oleifera Lamarck leaves present carotenoids, lignans and phenolic compounds with important phytochemicals effective in antiabetic, antisclerotic, cardiovascular and systemic protection at animal and human levels. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The constitution of bioactives in the leaves of Moringa oleifera Lamarck infers important pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hypocholesterolemic activity. Further studies at preclinical and clinical levels are suggested in order to safeguard indications and use in terms of human health. In addtion, multicenter studies are encourageg.
