REPRESENTAÇÕES SOCIAIS DA DEPRESSÃO PÓS-PARTO ATRAVÉS DA OBRA CINEMATOGRÁFICA “RESPIRE FUNDO”

OBJETIVO: Elucidar as representações sociais da depressão pós-parto através da narrativa linear da personagem fictícia Julie Davis, no filme intitulado “A Mouthful of Air” (em português, “Respire Fundo”), disponível na plataforma de streaming da HBO Max. MATERIAIS E MÉTODOS: Utilizou-se como estratégia a pesquisa documental em mídia audiovisual, de caráter qualitativo acerca do assunto abordado, envolvendo o filme supracitado que conta a história de uma mulher que desconhece os seus próprios temores, e enfrenta uma batalha esmagadora pela sobrevivência. RESULTADOS E DISCUSSÃO: Depressão e ansiedade são os transtornos mais comuns na contemporaneidade, e o filme alerta ser uma obra sensível, onde a conexão entre as representações sociais pode ser interpretada como uma informação narrativa que influencia discussões na área saúde mental. Portanto, os tópicos que vão desde ficção até a compreensão, reflexão de fatos e acontecimentos da vida dos sujeitos, são transformados extraordinariamente como material de conhecimento, e o filme retrata a falta de reconhecimento da depressão e o suicídio através da interpretação da dor de quem sofre com essas condições. CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS: A ficção ressignifica o real, e trabalhar com as representações sociais significa reconhecer a existência de novos saberes partilhados ao senso comum através de novas tecnologias.

ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: Elucidate the social representations of postpartum depression through the linear narrative of the fictional character Julie Davis, in the film entitled “A Mouthful of Air”, available on the HBO Max. METHODS: As a strategy documentary research in audiovisual media was used, of a qualitative nature on the subject addressed, involving the aforementioned film that tells the story of a woman who is unaware of her own fears, and faces an overwhelming battle for survival. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Depression and anxiety are the most common disorders in contemporary times, and the film warns that it is a sensitive work, where the connection between social representations can be interpreted as narrative information that influences discussions in the mental health area. Therefore, topics ranging from fiction to understanding, reflection of facts and events in the life of the subjects, are extraordinarily transformed as material of knowledge, and the film portrays the lack of recognition of depression and suicide through the interpretation of the pain of those who suffer from these conditions. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Fiction re-signifies the real, and working with social representations means recognizing the existence of new knowledge shared with common sense through new technologies.
