ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: To identify in the literature the iatrogenies related to nursing care in Intensive Care Units. METHODS: This is a descriptive research of the integrative literature review type. The descriptors were used: nursing care, intensive care unit and iatrogenics. Found in the Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS), in the National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE), Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), BDENF and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The most frequent errors found in the analyzed studies were: care with changes in position that generate pressure injuries (PPL), healthcare with urinary catheters, equipment failure, inappropriate use of equipment and team failure. CONCLUSION OR FINAL CONSIDERATIONS:It is concluded that the study responded to the initial problem, which sought to highlight the most frequent iatrogenic events in the daily routine of nursing care within the Intensive Care Unit. It is hoped that the work may serve as a contribution to health professionals in general, aiming to reduce the incidence of iatrogenic injuries and promote safer care for users of health services.
