ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: To report the experience of residents in Adult Intensive Care in the use of active methodologies in teaching-learning activities about the goal three of patient safety. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is an experience report of activities developed by residents. The activities took place in a public hospital, with the objective of training professionals on goal three of patient safety: improving safety in the prescription, use and administration of medications. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: We divided the action into three moments, in the first moment we carried out a pre-test, later we carried out an explanation approaching the theme, in the last moment, we created a problem situation, in which the professionals would have to identify the errors presented, which allowed a reflective discussion about the situation occurred. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The use of active methodologies in the training of health professionals is an important tool because it enables greater interaction among those involved.
