ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: To analyze the interfaces between Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (ICHP), Primary Health Care (PHC), care, and public policies within the Unified Health System (UHS). METHOD: A narrative review with a bibliometric analysis of keyword co-occurrence, based on a corpus of 19 original articles processed in the VOSviewer software to map the conceptual structure of the field. RESULTS: The bibliometric network revealed four interrelated clusters, in which PHC operates as a centralizing axis. The structure articulates clinical-care dimensions, highlighted by the prominence of phytotherapy and person-centered care, with political-institutional and normative dimensions. The literature indicates that the provision of ICHPs is primarily sustained by multiprofessional volunteerism. This insertion is marginalized by the maintenance of biomedical hegemony and faces underfunding, a shortage of supplies, and strictly rhetorical managerial support. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: PHC transcends the role of a mere setting, configuring itself as a structuring matrix for the implementation of ICHPs. However, a severe asymmetry persists between the demedicalizing potential of these practices and their institutional vulnerability. Overcoming this scenario requires organic planning, direct funding, and continuing education, thereby mitigating the risks of a " holistic medicalization" and consolidating therapeutic comprehensiveness as a right.
