ABSTRACT: OBJECTIVE: To understand the dynamics of the multiprofessional work process in house calls within Primary Care, analyzing the limitations resulting from the bureaucratization of practices and the potential of using technological tools for care systematization. METHOD: Literature review conducted in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Scientific Electronic Library Online, CAPES Journal Portal, and Google Scholar databases, selecting 18 primary studies that underwent qualitative synthesis and thematic categorization. RESULTS: A dissociation between theoretical guidelines and daily practices was evidenced. The work process is fragmented by a rigid division of labor, which overburdens community health agents with administrative tasks and distances doctors and nurses from the territory. However, methodological tools (such as the Singular Therapeutic Project) and digital innovations (tablets and WhatsApp) qualify care, although registration in SISAB faces managerial and connectivity gaps. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Overcoming operational and bureaucratic barriers requires restructuring team schedules, ensuring logistical support, investing in permanent education, and improving connectivity infrastructure, consolidating house calls as an indispensable tool for comprehensive care in the Unified Health System.
